Member Type

Associate Members have a broad spectrum of engagement but tend to be deeply engaged in Broad science. This appointment confers automatic PI status, intended for those planning to initiate scientific collaborations at the Broad.

Affiliate Members enjoy access to the Broad and its resources and the opportunity to forge connections with its scientific community. This appointment does not confer automatic PI status (which is available upon petition), ideal for those seeking a Broad appointment chiefly for access to data, resources and meetings.

Associate and Affiliate Members must hold faculty level appointments with one of our partner institutions. Please indicate your primary home institution.

In order to be eligible for an Associate or Affiliate Member appointment you must hold a title of Assistant Professor or higher at one of the Broad partner institutions listed above. Please note for new faculty at our hospital partners: Your HMS Assistant Professor (or higher) appointment must also be finalized before we can appoint you as an Associate or Affiliate Member. Understanding that this process can take some time, we are happy to appoint you as an Associated Scientist to facilitate access and engagement with the Broad community.

Questions for those applying to be a new Associate Member
  1. If you indicated above that you are currently collaborating with one or more Broad program or platform, please describe that collaboration here.
  2. If you are not currently collaborating with a Broad program or platform, are there other ways in which you and/or your lab engage with the Broad, such as by speaking at or attending a Broad seminar series?
  3. Please detail ways in which you hope that you and your lab might further engage with the Broad over the next two years.
  4. Please describe how we could help you navigate the Broad and get more involved.
